The Lynchburg Education Association’s annual Breakfast with the Superintendent is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. Thursday, at Lynchburg College’s Memorial Ballroom. Breakfast reservations are still being accepted through the end of the day Tuesday.
The theme this year is the importance of arts education in the schools. In addition to remarks from administrators, there will also be performances by students from school arts programs.
Education Association Executive Director Jodi Gillette said the theme for the event was planned long ago and is not a response to the current budget situation. Proceeds from the breakfast are used by the Foundation to fund ongoing programs and projects designed to support the division’s schools, students and teachers.
