A man police suspect was responsible for two area purse snatchings was arrested Monday, officials said.
Lt. Mark Jamison with the Lynchburg Police Department said officers arrested Harrison Brian Robinson, 34, after an incident near Rowland Drive and Rivermont Avenue on Monday.
A female victim told police that a male suspect had approached her from behind and stolen her purse.
Police found a person on Bedford Avenue matching the description she gave, and they identified him as Robinson.
Jamison said police believe Robinson is responsible for an incident in November at the CVS on Langhorne Road, during which a male subject threatened an elderly woman with an unseen weapon and stole her purse.
Robinson was charged with grand larceny related to the Monday incident, and robbery related to the incident in November.
Jamison said Robinson had outstanding warrants on charges of breaking and entering, grand larceny and petit larceny.
He said Robinson was being held at the Lynchburg Adult Detention Center.
