Prosecutors plan to charge 2 of 3 teens involved in 81-year-old beating death as adults

10 On Your Side has learned prosecutors in Lynchburg plan to treat two of the three juvenile suspects in the beating death of 81-year-old George Baker III as adults.

State law mandates the two 16-year-old suspects in the murder be tried as adults, according to the lead prosecutor in the case.

Another 13-year-old suspect will not be tried as an adult since he is under 14 years of age.

The first hearing in the case is set for September 28th in Lynchburg Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
