Lincoln casting call

Attention gents, Hollywood beckons.

Hide your shaving cream, hide your razor and hide your scissors too, because they’re looking for beards AND long hair.

This Friday, July 22, the production company shooting Spielberg’s Lincoln movie here in Richmond will hold a casting call for men 20 and over.

“If you’re interested and presently have long hair and/or a beard, or you are able to stop shaving and cutting your hair until the casting director comes to the area next week, please come to an open call,” the Virginia Film Office's notice says.

This is an all day casting call, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., held at the Greater Richmond Convention Center.

The production company asks that you bring a recent photo with you. If you are one of the lucky shaggy men selected, this will be a paid position, as an extra.

This will be the second casting call of the production, that starts filming in October. The first was for young boys to play Lincoln’s son, Tad, and next, calls for bearded, long-hair men folk.

Not to worry though, fine ladies of Richmond. The production company has said there will be additional casting calls in August that will also include women and children.

More information can be found on the Facebook page for the Virginia Film Office.
