Hunting dogs, chickens, two horses, a distillery and firearms were seized from a Nelson County couple following a raid of their home.
Agents with the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control and other agencies searched the house of 71-year-old Tracy Davis and his 61-year-old wife Joyce Monday.
Tracy Davis is charged with 18 misdemeanor animal cruelty counts, 15 counts of felony possession of a dangerous weapon while illegally manufacturing, selling or transporting unlawful alcohol, and one misdemeanor count of illegally transporting untaxed alcohol.
Joyce Davis is charged with 28 misdemeanor animal cruelty counts.
Tracy Davis is being held without bond and his wife is being held on $5,000 bond at the Albemarle Charlottesville Regional Jail.
