A 7-year-old student is being treated for non-life threatening injuries, after being hit by a car while boarding the school bus early this (Monday) morning.
It happened at 6:33 a.m., in the 2000 block of Diamond Hill Road in Moneta according to State Police.
Investigators say the student was crossing the street to board the school bus, when the car hit the student.
EMTs treated the student at the scene, then airlifted the 7-year-old to Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Troopers charged the car's driver, 31-year-old Nicholas Lawson, of Goodview, with reckless driving.
The investigating trooper who responded to the scene, said speed, drugs, and alcohol were not factors in the crash.
