Friends of Lynchburg Dog Park and Camp Kum-Ba-Yah are sponsoring a “Doggie Day at Camp” from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday to help raise money for a planned off-leash dog park in Lynchburg and benefit a program to send children to Camp Kum-Ba-Yah.

Families can bring their dogs to Camp Kum-Ba-Yah, 4415 Boonsboro Road, for swimming to pottery-making to baking homemade doggie treats, plus grooming and a doggie spa. A photographer will also be on hand.

Tickets are $20 per dog and $10 for each additional dog, and participants can save $5 by buying tickets early at Peaksview Animal Hospital, Pet Craze at Western Ways, Outdoor Trails, Boonsboro Animal Hos-pital, Lynchburg Parks & Recreation and Camp Kum-Ba-Yah’s main office. Discount tickets are available to those who volunteer a minimum of two hours. For more information on the event and Silent Auction, visit www.campkumbayah.com or www.lynchburgdogpark.com

Friends of Lynchburg Dog Park have raised more than $28,000 for the project, nearly 80 percent of the total needed, organizers said.
