»  Comments | Post a Comment

An Appomattox County child molester was sentenced to 12 years in prison Tuesday.

Dennis Erb Sr., 61, pleaded guilty here in July to aggravated sexual battery of a child. He has been sentenced for similar convictions in two other Virginia counties.

Erb was sentenced to 20 years with eight years suspended in Appomattox County Circuit Court. When released, he will be on probation for five years, but his sentence will be subject to revocation for 20 years. Judge Joel Cunningham ordered him to undergo sex offender treatment and to register as a violent sex offender.

Erb pleaded guilty to another charge of aggravated sexual battery of a child in Waynesboro in March and was sentenced to an active term of six months. He was sentenced to five years in prison in Frederick County, Va. in June on convictions of taking indecent liberties with a child younger than 15 and sodomy of a child.
