Lynchburg police seek public's help in Mack truck mystery

Lynchburg police are asking for the public's help in finding out who put a Mack truck down a Wards Road embankment nearly a month ago.

On Jan. 11, at 7:09 a.m., officers went to 2505 Wards Road -- a shopping center with Gold's Gym, among other businesses -- on a call about tampering with a vehicle.

They found a 1996 Mack truck over the curb and partly down the embankment at the rear of the building.

The vehicle had been parked there overnight. It wasn't running, but the the key was in the ignition and the the driver's door was open. The truck's undercarriage was damaged.
