»  Comments | Post a Comment

The Virginia Department of Transportation will hold an informational meeting Feb. 21 to discuss plans to improve the intersection of U.S. 221 and Goode Station Road in Goode.

The project, anticipated to cost about $1 million and proposed to cover a fourth of a mile, seeks to improve the Bedford County intersection’s safety and efficiency by adding turn lanes, bike and pedestrian accommodations and consolidating access points.

VDOT tentatively is targeting November 2014 as the time to advertise the project’s construction.

The meeting takes place from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Goode Volunteer Rescue Squad on U.S. 221 in Goode. VDOT is taking written comments about the project at the meeting or until March 2. For more information, call (540) 387-5353.
