The president and chief executive officer of Walmart's U.S. operations this morning told Liberty University students that the country needs faith-based leadership.
Bill Simon said people are longing for a return to security and confidence, and told students at LU's convocation that they were getting the foundation for those skills at the school.
"You're going to impact the world," said Simon, who oversees 1.3 million Walmart employees and 3,700 stores in the U.S.
Simon said that when he was in college at the University of Connecticut, he had a fear of leaving the world without making a mark.
He told LU students to live with a sense of purpose.
"It's your turn. Now what are you going to do?" Simon said. "Fulfillment comes only when doing something meaningful."
