Ford Motor Company and General Mills awarded Sheffield Elementary with $1,000 at an assembly Monday.
Parent Tonya Colbert won the money for the school through the Box Tops for Education Sweepstakes. The school is set to use the money for technology purchases.
Sheffield is one of eight schools across the country to win the $1,000 prize. The national winner, who will be announced in early February, will receive $20,000 for their school.
