Glass golfer Bost wins All-American Cup

»  Comments | Post a Comment

E.C. Glass senior Daniel Bost shot a 74 to win The Society of Seven Sports Club’s second annual All-American Cup, featuring many of the top-seeded golfers from all of the area’s high schools, Saturday at Poplar Grove in Amherst.

Bost also won the putting contest, coming within 13 1/4 inches of the pin on a putt from a distance of 80 feet. His shot was dead on and struck at the correct speed and probably would have dropped into the cup had the putting green flag been removed in time.

Brian Ross of Jefferson Forest was second in the putting contest at 33 inches from the pin and JF teammate George McDaniel was third, 39 1/4 inches off.

Liberty High’s Clay Carimi and Liberty Christian Academy’s Chris Stinnette tied for second place in the overall tournament with scores of 79 before Carimi won a two-hole playoff to seal medalist runner-up honors.
