Video: Frank Beamer looks back on 2008 season

The celebration is over. The lights are out in Dolphin Stadium.

But the positive carry-over for the Virginia Tech football program cannot be denied.

This championship chapter in Hokie history is in the books, and now the page turns to the work ahead - a new year that should be promising with key additions to the offense.

Redshirt freshman tailback Ryan Williams will compete for carries with Darren Evans who had a monster year running the ball. It could also offer the Hokies a big one-two punch.

Beamer says it's up to the players to step up in spring practice.

Tech’s young receiving fleet will see the return of Brandon Dillard from Achilles surgery.

That will be a big help to an area Coach Beamer says has already taken big strides since the beginning of fall practice.

Another year of chemistry could lead an offense that had questions in 2008, to an ACC title hat trick next season.
