Paulo Orlando hit a two-run home run to left in the first inning and added a two-run double in a three-run fourth to lift the Wilmington Blue Rocks to a 6-4 victory over the Lynchburg Hillcats, their second in a row, Tuesday night at Frawley Stadium.
Mike Moustakas led off the eighth inning with his 12th home run off Harrison Bishop, who struck out four Blue Rocks in three innings of relief for starter Ronald Uviedo (5-4).
Both teams banged out 10 hits but the Hillcats left nine on base compared to just three for the Blue Rocks.
Lynchburg’s Erik Huber’s double with no outs in the fourth scored Matt Hague and Kent Sakamoto, who had led off with singles, giving the Hillcats a 4-2 lead and knocking out Wilmington starter Danny Duffy.
Kelvin Villa (3-6) got the win with three and two-thirds innings of relief work before Daniel Gutierrez pitched the eighth and Chris Chavez the ninth for his third save.
The three-game series concludes at noon today before the Hillcats return home for a four-game set with the Frederick Keys starting Thursday.
