Another quality start from pitcher Matt McSwain and some timely hitting contributed to the Lynchburg Hillcats 6-1 victory over the host Frederick Keys on Tuesday night.
McSwain, who has six wins and one no decision in his last seven starts, allowed one run and struck out one in 6 1/3 innings to improve to 6-1 on the season. The win was the Hillcats’ ninth in their last 11 games.
Lynchburg designated hitter Kent Sakamoto hit his fourth home run of the season, and Alex Presley went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Catcher Kris Watts scored three runs.
The Hillcats (34-17) close a three-game series with the Keys tonight at 7 p.m.
