Kent Brizendine hit a two-run home run in the top of the sixth inning off Liberty Christian Acad-emy starting pitcher Brock Wilson to lift E.C. Glass to a 6-5 non-district victory at LCA on Monday.
The Hilltoppers (1-2) scored all six of their runs in the last three innings, capped by a three-run seventh.
The Bulldogs’ first loss came a week and a half after they beat Glass in the season-opener for both teams.
Corey Rose and Matt Williams each had two hits including a double while Desmond Rice and Seth Good each had two hits for LCA (3-1), which out-hit the Hilltoppers 11-9.
Liberty 4, Northside 2
Cody Outhong batted 2-for-2 with three RBIs, Brett Dietrich went 2-for-3 with an RBI double and Liberty turned three double plays to hold off the visiting Vikings (2-2) and improve to 4-1.
Clay Carimi lasted six innings and picked up his first win in a rare start, out-pitching Matt Lynn, who had defeated the Minutemen last week. Lynn struck out eight but also walked six for North-side.

Jefferson Forest 1, Brookville 0
Andrew Dempsey headed David Rochow’s crossing pass from the corner inside the near post to break a scoreless tie early the second overtime period of a Seminole District match.
Brookville took only two shots for the game, both saved by Cavalier goalkeeper Blake Hubbard.
“They had a really good tactic,” Jefferson Forest coach Jedd Zaring said. “They bunkered in pretty effectively (defensively), usually keeping between six and seven guys behind the ball.
“It was a great win for us,” he added. “For being this early in the season, it really was playoff atmosphere (and) it reminded me of that Northside game last year (a Region III tournament loss).”
