It was a great weekend for running backs across the region.
Cave Spring running back Sam Wright , who rushed for 234 yards on 26 carries and 2 Touchdowns,,including a 63 yd td. The Knights defeated Pulaski Co. 42-34.
GW-Danville junior running back DeVaughn Benion rushed for a career-high 246 yards and 2 touchdowns on 18 carries, including touchdown runs of 58 and 43 yards, as the Eagles held off Halifax County 35-34.
Amherst senior running backJamal Glover finished with 10 carries for 181 yards and three touchdowns in the Lancers' 54-6 triumph over Brookville.
