Lynchburg College freshman forward Dessi Dupuy, the former E.C. Glass standout, scored two goals in Wednesday’s 9-0 Old Dominion Athletic Conference victory over Randolph-Macon in Ashland to equal the Hornets’ school record for goals scored in a season with 25.
Though 17 games, Dupuy has tied the Hornets record set in 1997 by Karen O’Connor. LC still has two regular season games to play as well as possibly three ODAC tournament games and NCAA tournament contests.
Lynchburg (14-2-1, 9-0-1) is the only team in the ODAC without a loss in conference play. The Hornets will host Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. as a part of the college’s homecoming festivities.
The Marlins are ranked 17th in the country and will enter the match with an 8-1 ODAC record. The winner likely will win the regular season title, earn the No. 1 seed in the ODAC tournament and host all of their ODAC tournament games.
Through Sunday, Dupuy ranked third in NCAA Division III in points per game (3.19) and goals per game (1.438) and second in goals scored. LC’s senior midfielder Joanie Snyder also ranked second in assists with 13.
